The overall goal of Dr. Loeb’s research program is to understand the principal forces that influence species interactions involving plants, herbivores, natural enemies and more recently microbes with the specific applied goal of developing novel approaches to pest management. The Loeb lab seeks to translate and transfer results of applied research to growers so that they will be better informed and able to make sound pest management decisions.

Esther Kibbe


Esther Kibbe is the Western NY berry specialist with Harvest NY, a regional team of Cornell Cooperative Extension. Esther received her B.S. in Plant Science from Cornell and recently earned her M.S. from Ohio State University. Before joining extension, she worked as a strawberry and blueberry breeder for Driscoll’s and as a consultant for produce companies and berry growers. Esther works with growers on all aspects of berry production, with particular interest in helping them adopt new growing systems.
